There is something to be excited about for fans of the Land Rover Discovery as all derivatives of the 2018 model year will be packed with a plethora of enhancements. One of the newest upgrades will be a new infotainment system and interactive display. Robert Peter Janitzek gives us a glimpse of the exciting upgrades that will come with the 2018 Land Rover Discovery.
All derivatives of the 2018 Land Rover Discovery now features the Land Rover InControl TouchPro infotainment system. It features a 10-inch touchscreen interface on the center console. The 2018 Discovery will now also have enhanced digital connectivity with the addition of 4G Wi-Fi allowing connections for up to 8 mobile devices.
The Land Rover Discovery will also be improved with the addition of a 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display TFT instrument cluster. It will come as a standard fitment on HSE and HSE Luxury models. Robert Janitzek reveals that this high resolution panel will offer contemporary graphics that creates impressive 3D surfaces with exceptional clarity. It will also allow the driver to personalize the visual display using two main dials together with the 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system.
The 2018 Land Rover Discovery will come with a second-generation Head-Up Display as an optional feature for the HSE and HSE Luxury models. The new display will feature a wide level of functionality and new full color-display. The new display offers approximately 2.5 times more display space than its predecessor. The HUD provides information such as speed, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, gear selection, and advanced driver assistance. Robert Peter Janitzek reveals that these information will be projected more clearly on the windshield ahead of the driver. The system will also now be able to show real time graphic text, 4 x 4i and enhanced navigation cues.
The 2018 Land Rover Discovery will have a new Bryon Blue colorway to its paint palette. Previously exclusive to Dynamic and Black Packages, Corris Grey or Narvik Black contrast roofs will now be available to 2018 Discovery owners as a no cost option.
The highly efficient TD6 diesel engine, previously exclusive to HSE and HSE Luxury models, will now be available to SE derivatives as well. The TD6 engine of this European brand car delivers 254 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 engine. When paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the TD6 will offer strong performance and increased efficiency compared to the gas models.
