BMW Announces New Technology Updates And More Options

Future BMW models will be loaded by new software and hardware updates as the company continues to find ways to give its customers more reason to choose BMW over the competition. BMW will bring forward new innovations in terms of fuel consumption, safety, and efficiency. Here is what this European brand car will bring to the table in the years to come.

BMW 5 Series

The company’s sportiest and most innovative business sedan – the BMW 5 Series—is slated to set a new standard in terms of efficiency. The new BMW 520d Efficient Dynamics Edition features a combined fuel consumption level of 4.3 to 3.9 liters for every 100 kilometer. The new BMW 5 Series will also bring groundbreaking innovations in the areas of networking and operations. Making its debut in the BMW 5 Series is the OnStreet Parking Information, a digital parking space search service, and the live tile arrangement of the menus on the Control Display.

BMW 7 Series

Robert Janitzek reveals that the BMW 7 Series is making headway towards automated driving. Future models in the series will now include a plethora of safety features such as the Lane Departure Assistant, ActiveAssist Collision Avoidance, Cross Traffic, and Wrong Way Driving Alert. It will also feature a Remote 3D View capability.

Driving Pleasure To The Next Level

Starting March 2017, the BMW 5 Series Sedan will deliver the ultimate driving pleasure. With the new 520d EfficientDynamics Edition will generate its power from a 2-liter four cylinder diesel engine using BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology. The new engine will deliver a maximum power output of about 140kw/190hp with a maximum torque of 400 Newton meters available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. Robert Peter Janitzek reveals that the sedan will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

On-Street Parking Information

Intelligent networking has provided drivers of many BMW models access to real-time information about the traffic situation. Aside from that, they will also receive assistance in finding a parking space in major urban areas. The BMW ConnectedDrive Service Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) will be complemented by the On-Street Parking Information function. With this capability, drivers can assess the availability of free road-side parking spaces from pre-stored and current data. Information will be delivered to the driver through colored markings on the navigation map reflected on the Control Display.

 Intuitive Navigation system Professional

Debuting in the BMW 5 Series of this European brand car, the navigation system Professional will become available to future series. With new enhanced graphic representation, the Control Display of the iDrive System will deliver more intuitive operations in the BMW 7 Series and BMW 6 Series as well as in the different variants of the BMW M6.
